Tailoring is one of the basic skills which often was considered as a "Must have Quality" of a woman by the time they reached the age of marriage. But it is not only girls to learn stitching and cutting clothes to make beautiful dresses. A skill is an art acquired or learnt irrespective of the gender. Many of the tailors in the India are male as they see it as a source for business and income generation.  

Consumers are looking for clothes that are not only stylish but also eco-friendly, and tailors can provide that. As a result, the tailoring industry is booming, and there is a growing need for skilled tailors. Lack of quality training restricts people from the opportunities for self-advancement by limiting their access to well-paid employment options, sustainable and dignified livelihood.

Sewing or tailoring skills play a vital role in India's economy and daily life. In a country with a large workforce, developing these skills can provide employment opportunities and boost entrepreneurship. Stitching and Dress Making are often the backbone of the fashion industry, providing bespoke clothing services. Moreover, India's textile industry is a significant contributor to the country's GDP.  

According to a recent survey in India the average income in a tailor job in India with basic Tailoring skills is approximately 15,958/- INR per month.

Course Outcomes:
1. Perform of Pattern Making, Drafting and Marking.
2. Demonstrate drafting, cutting, stitching and finishing of garments.
3. Demonstrate Construction and Garments variation.
4. Explain different techniques and related trade terminologies.
5. Make garments by using techniques in systematic way requirements
